This summer’s China Culture Trip welcomed featured our longest and most exciting itinerary to date! We welcomed 9 adoption families (US and Canada) and visited Beijing, Tianjin, Xi’an, Guilin, Yangshou, Suzhou and Shanghai. Besides typical tourist activities we also got to visit many “behind the scenes” venues, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Great Hall of the People, Beijing Opera Art vocational school, and a tea plantation. Of course, the highlight of the trip was visiting the Prince of Peace Children’s Home on July 4th.

“I loved that I could talk and relate with other girls and boys. It is an experience that opened my eyes to Chinese culture and food.”
-Davina (child)

“I made so many new friends – I’ll miss them when I leave!”
-Samantha (child)

“The best part was climbing the Great Wall to the top- I loved it!”
-Makena (child)

“The best part was meeting people. I felt I gained closer relationships and got to understand the challenges and stress of other families… I would recommend this trip to anyone. I definitely feel that I have expanded mine & my family’s international perspective of the world. This breadth of knowledge will be so valuable for both my children in the future. I definitely would not do this alone, and am thankful for POP’s Foundation for setting this up.”
-Gary (parent)

“This is a wonderful opportunity to see much of China and for adopted families to connect with each other. A great trip, well planned & organized. Thanks!”
-Janis (parent)
