This summer’s China Culture Trip was a 13 days trip from July 29th, 2006 to August 10th, 2006, with an optional extended tour to Hong Kong. We welcomed 23 adoption families (US and Canada) and visited Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, and Hong Kong. Besides typical tourist activities we also got to visit many “behind the scenes” venues, such as the People’s Great Hall, the DiaoYuTai State Guesthouse. Of course, the highlight of the trip was visiting the Prince of Peace Children’s Home.

“It was a wonderful trip. Going to the school & visiting all the kids at the children’s home was the best part. I learned a lot about children with special needs in China. It was really eye opening. ”
-Connie (child)

“My favorite part of this trip was definitely all the time on the buses/planes & hanging out with all the families. You guys are awesome! :)”
-Dorothy (child)

“My favorite memory is seeing the giant pandas. They were very cute!”
-Chloe (child)

“My favorite events in China were those that allowed us to experience the culture of many minority groups in the country. I also loved the beautiful and fascinating and long bus ride to JiuZhaiGou.”
-Julien (parent)

“The most wonderful part of the trip for me was seeing my daughter grow with each experience. Many questions and worries were answered and some new ones created. Where do I start with the rest of the trip? The orphanage, Tibetan school, and of course the food. This trip will never be forgotten by our family. Thanks so much to all involved.”
-Robert (parent)
