There were a total of 26 adopted children in the Bay Area who participated in this Cultural Trip. After arriving in Beijing, they met with adopting families from all over the world for a cultural exchange. This trip was also made special as it is the first time that 2 children from the “King of Peace” Children’s Welfare institute in Wuqing, Tianjin adopted to the United States are returning home.
On 11th July, an event was held, and it consisted of 3 parts:
- Children’s talent shows aimed to forge friendship with friends from overseas.
- A visit to the Welfare Home to share about the life and education programmes in the homes. The vocational training programmes available for the older children was explained in this visit too.
- A reunion dinner, which involved the making of dumplings. The purpose of this was to welcome the 2 children who returned to “King of Peace” Children’s Welfare institute as well as the other guests on this trip.
It was a wonderful cultural exchange and was a great opportunity for many friendships to be forged.
