The POP’s Foundation (POPF) and Hawaii International Child (HIC) are pleased to announce a new way to help children waiting for adoption in China.
Eligible families are invited for an all expenses paid visit to the Prince Of Peace Children’s Home in Tianjin, China. While there, families will be able to see the good work that is being done at the orphanage, meet and interact with staff and observe children. The trip is designed to help families understand the issues facing orphans, to take inspiration from the good work being done to help and nurture these children, and to create future advocates to ensure all eligible children find forever families some day.
In order to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, families must meet the following criteria:
– Meet all China Center for Children’s Welfare and Adoption (CCCWA) adoption rules, such as but not limited to: Health, criminal background, financial, and employment clearances;
– Have no more than five children living at home;
– Sign up to complete an international home study with HIC.
Families who meet the criteria will be invited to join the next POPF/HIC travel group, based on space available. Groups will travel twice each year, in the spring and fall. Families are required to pay their round trip air fare from Hawaii to Beijing and all other expenses (including internal transportation and accommodations) will be covered by a grant from POP’s Foundation.
This trip is ideal for families considering adopting a waiting child from China and presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to see China and experience the joy that come from serving others.
